On the Bus

I used to drive in Tsukuba when I was a graduate student, but upon returning here as a reseacher and finding an apartment near the workplace, we decided not to purchase a car and go through the (tremendous!) hassle of obtaining a Japanese driver's license. After all, there's a bus that passes behind our house almost every hour, and as long as we plan our trips well, we really don't have to worry about transportation. Besides, it's cheaper and environment-friendly in the long run. In this photo, Theo is seen riding the bus on our way to Tsukuba Center yesterday.

In the photos below, Theo is seen in various shades of cuteness, or should I say, in various shades of trying to be cute (hehe...).

Theo: Live in Tokyo Disneyland and Ueno Park - Take 2

Theo in his pajamas: The charmer is at it again. He is much more cute in person, trust me.

Sleepy in Disney: We went to Tokyo Disneyland again for the second time this year because I was able to purchase discount tickets through the university. However, because we woke up early in order to be at Disneyland by 9 a.m., Theo was fast asleep during the first few hours of the morning. It was raining while he was sleeping, so he didn't miss much.

At Toontown: Toontown is certainly Theo's favorite attraction in Tokyo Disneyland, although in this photo he appears to be unconcerned that he is there.

Rainy weekdays keep the crowds away, that's why we were able to really enjoy Disneyland when we went there. We left at around 9 p.m. after watching the Electrical Parade and fireworks; we also entered all of the major attractions where Theo was allowed.

At Mickey's house: Theo could hardly believe it when he saw Mickey Mouse in person at Toontown. This photo was taken just before our photo-op with Mickey himself.

Theo in Ueno: Theo fed the pigeons at Ueno Park for the second time this year. We went there last Saturday to meet with Tippi and Ian, as well as to do some minor shopping at Akihabara, Tokyo's famous "Electric Town."

Fashion sense: Mommy D is very good when it comes to dressing up our little Theo, thereby accentuating his handsomeness. Is this a fashion model or what?

Theo's First Tricycle

Theo was utterly surprised yesterday when I went home with a toy tricycle for him. He immediately went after it even if he didn't know how to use it at first. After a while though, he was already riding around, albeit not so perfectly.

Theo will surely have lots of "vehicles" in the future, but this tricycle is special because it is his first.

Keep smiling, Theo! You can be sure that you are loved.

What are you lookin' at?

What are you lookin' at?

Theo is at the small park near our home where we usually take him when he's bored. It's not really a big park but definitely large enough for a 20-month-old kid.

Did I say "20 months"? Time flies indeed.

Theo in exercise mode? No, he's just watching his favorite videos of nursery rhymes and Disney classics.

We went to Matsumi Park yesterday where Theo enjoyed watching and feeding the kois. As you can see, these fishes are oversized, probably because they're always being fed by many kids every weekend.

Aside from enjoying the outdoors, Theo also loves toy cars or anything on wheels (toy trains, buses etc.) When we go out, he would sometimes bring one of his toy cars and make it run on the street. He's built a collection already, but we get them all from the 100-yen shop or from secondhand stores.

Theo is definitely 100% male. As his personality unfolds, his brain continues to be wired towards boys' stuff. His toy choices are his own.
