Photos Galore - 6
This photo was taken at a street somewhere near the back of our apartment. Less than 5 minutes away from this spot is Nishi-nippori Station on the Yamanote Line.
Mommy D bought Theo's new shoes in this shoe store somewhere in Tokyo Dome (Suidobashi). As always, Theo was a hit among the sales clerks here.
With two lollipops in hand, Theo strikes a pensive pose beside a tree near Tokyo Dome. Near this spot is a merry-go-round but the cost of riding it is just way too expensive. (Maybe that's why he's in such a pensive pose...)
Last Sunday, we went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Children's Hall, where Theo enjoyed some of the toys. He spent more than 30 min riding this one, even if he had to use his own feet to get it moving.
Theo is crazy about trains, and on the 2nd floor of the children's hall, there's an area where kids his age can play with Thomas the Tank Engine. It is quite obvious in this photo that he's having a swell time.
This weekend is the "Nezu-Sendagi Matsuri"; Nezu and Sendagi are place names while "Matsuri" means festival. This afternoon, Theo and I went to Nezu shrine where much of the fun and attractions are concentrated. Here he is goofing around, as always.

Theo loves to play with stones; luckily for him, Mommy D wasn't around when he was doing this, so he had a grand time. (Mommy D followed later after finishing the laundry.) When Mommy D arrived, the first order of business was to wipe his hands clean with wet tissue.
Here's an amusing anecdote:
When Theo had his first influenza vaccine shot last week at a government-designated clinic, the doctor and nurse told Mommy D that she should hold Theo very tightly and securely because kids his age would usually cry loudly and move wildly when the needle touches the skin. As advised, Mommy D fastened Theo's head and trunk with her arms while the nurse held his legs. They were probably expecting a major tantrum.
However, contrary to their expectations, soon after the needle pierced his skin and the vaccine injected, the only sound that they heard from Theo was a soft "Aahh...", the same kind of sound that a regular person would make when he/she feels something good.
Mommy D, the doctor and nurse broke into amused laughter, while Theo just massaged his arm where the injection was made. From the doctor's and nurse's reactions, Mommy D surmised that they probably don't encounter Theo's brand of stoicism everyday.
