At Nature's Resort

Last Sunday morning (June 28), we all went to Nature's Resort for a refreshing R&R (rest and recreation) together with Mommy D's relatives. Here, Theo spent a couple of hours "swimming" and playing in the kiddie's pool. He was hesitant at first to try the water, but after a while, he was exploring the pool all by himself. If only we weren't about to return home in the afternoon, he would have wanted to take another dip. We're planning to bring him there again or to Sta. Fe Resort for another "swim."

This is the mascot of one of the leading fast food chains here in the Philippines. At Jollibee, Theo's favorite is hamburger and iced tea.

At a Chinese temple

Just a few meters from our house stands a Chinese temple, so one afternoon, Theo and I went there to explore the place. Though not as impressive as the temples in Tokyo, this one provided enough stimulus for Theo to begin exploring the site.

On Saturday afternoon, we decided at the spur of the moment to go to Sta. Fe Resort. This place is famous for the three huge public pools that it has but we didn't bring our swimming trunks then. Thus, we just explored the place and went to their mini-zoo where a crocodile awaits (see photo below).

At the Capitol Lagoon

There aren't too many picturesque spots in Bacolod City, but one place that has been considered a landmark here is the Capitol Lagoon, a park just in front of the Provincial Government office. My parents brought me here when I was also a kid, and now that we have Theo, we also thought of bringing him here last Thursday afternoon. Theo spent much of the time running around and feeding the tilapia fishes in the huge pond.

On Friday afternoon, on the other hand, we met up with my sister and her family at the nearby university, where Theo and his cousin Lance played in the grass and at the beach volleyball court. Theo acted like an older brother to his cousin, who is roughly 2 years younger than him.
