The Chef

Children often imitate what they see, and for Theo, what he sees almost everyday is Mommy D doing some magic in our small kitchen. Not to be left out, Theo also grabbed his makeshift toque blanche and apron and did some "cooking" and "slicing" of his own.

One morning, I took a shot of Theo's breakfast: rice, bacon and eggs. Well, it's not particularly healthy but it's one of the easiest to prepare, esp. in the morning. Nope, Winnie the Pooh is not part of the meal.

Theo and I went around the neighborhood this morning and I couldn't help taking this shot of him in front of this colorful red gate that leads to a temple.

For those with a Sony Playstation 3 (we don't), they say that the game "Metal Gear Solid 4" is a must-have. For us, a photo of Theo in front of the main character of this game is enough, esp. with him striking this amused pose. This photo was taken just this evening at Akihabara.

Photos Galore - 8

"Why?"

Recently, "why" has been our little Theo's favorite word in response to almost everything that we tell or ask of him.

...in a fit of laughter.

We went to Kaihin Makuhari last Saturday where one of Costco's branches in Japan is found. While waiting for the bus, we asked him to pose in front of the Badass Cafe.

At Himawari again just this week. Mommy D put him in a high place for this shot and he didn't want to look down.

At Ueno Park where Theo enjoyed the merry-go-round last Tuesday.

At Arakawa Yuen (a children's amusement park) where Theo and Mommy D went to last Friday. As always, Theo couldn't get enough of the rides.

There was also an area there where the kids can play in the water. Theo's delight can be clearly seen in his face.

These two photos above show some of the rides that Theo also enjoyed.

This was taken this morning in front of the fountain that serves as one of the landmarks of the spacious Hibiya Park. We've always found the need to take him to wide, open spaces where he can freely run and expend some of his excess energy.

In almost every public playground in Tokyo, there's always a ride like this, and it's always what Theo rides first.

"Let's go home now, it's starting to rain," I said.

"Why?"

Tokyo Bay Fireworks!

Yesterday was Theo's first time to watch a fireworks display, and he was really fired up! However, his excitement lasted for only a few minutes, because just after the first salvo of fireworks burst in the air, he was also on his way to the toilet for a poop explosion of his own, hehehe... And Mommy D had to unceremoniously take care of him there. Ironically, we were at the venue hours before the start of the fireworks display, and it was only when it started that he had to go to the john.

The venue was at Odaiba, and this shot gives you a glimpse of the thousands of people who were there to watch the fireworks display.

Theo at Odaiba port a few hours before the event started.

Apparently, this hotdog is the culprit behind Theo's trip to the toilet when the fireworks display began. Like most kids, his concept of "food" revolves around the Holy Hotdog!

This shot was taken last Saturday when we went to the nearby park. His feet became dirty and I asked him to wash them here.

It's pee time! And it's not in our toilet but in the bath! Obviously, I had to "delete" his (our) best kept secret, hehehe...

The stain on his mouth is chocolate ice cream. When you talk about ice cream to Theo, it must be chocolate. Vanilla or strawberry ice cream is not ice cream.

This shot was taken last Friday at...where else? Himawari again!

Ponyo

Recently, our little Theo can often be found singing the theme song of an animation movie that has caught Japanese kids by storm. If I'm not mistaken, it is something about a little fish, the details of which I'm totally unaware of...hehehe...

At Himawari again, for the nth time...hehehe...

At Ueno Park, where he always enjoys the rides.

Obviously, this ride is a cheaper alternative. Photos taken at Ueno Park last Friday (Aug.1).

The three photos above were taken at the Yanaka Park where he also met his classmate Amna and her younger sister and older brother. In the photo above, Amna is the second girl from the left.
