The Runner
March 19, 2006 / Sunday / 9:18 a.m.
By this time, not only can Theo walk very fast, he can walk too fast to the brink of almost running. The only problem is that he sometimes bumps his head on the wall or on corners, and that's why we have to watch him when he's on running mode.
Yesterday, we spent some time walking around the neighborhood, going back and forth to the dvd rental shop to borrow some of the latest videos. Most of the time, I made him walk; however, because of his curiosity, he would often stop in the middle of road to pick up stones, dried leaves, or whatever garbage that attracts his attention. And if he sees a cat or a dog, you can be sure that he'll walk towards the animal even if, with his still short legs, he'll never be able to catch up.
His mind is rapidly developing and opening new vistas around him. He can now follow more instructions. For instance, I asked him to give a piece of paper to his mother one evening. I was in the living room and her mom was in the bedroom, yet surprisingly, he obliged by bringing the paper to her. I never knew that a toddler who's less than 1 year and 3 mos. can actually do what someone asks him to do.
It's just past 9 a.m. now and Theo's still fast asleep. When he wakes up, I'm sure we'll have lots of things to do.
