Mr. Universe

It has been roughly two weeks since I last posted in this blog. The reason is rather simple: Mommy D and I decided that starting this year, I should spend less time in front of the computer and other things and more time taking care of Theo, even if it means fewer and even irregular blog posts.
Theo has undoubtedly become much more active and mobile, and taking care of him requires much time and attention. Each of us has to do our share; Japan is not like the Philippines where we can hire house helpers. Here, we have to do everything ourselves; just as my father once said, "you have to paddle your own canoe."
Nonetheless, as Theo grows older, it has become so much more enjoyable taking care of him. He has become much more interactive, more funny, more cute, and more expressive of his emotions (he has a crude way of kissing). It is definitely not burdensome playing with him; in fact, it is one of those rare moments when you feel like a child again.
Unlike in my previous posts, I will no longer be putting the week number, simply because since I will not be posting as regularly as before, I will probably lose track of Theo's age in terms of weeks. I will try, however, to mark his growth in terms of months; after all, after the first year, the changes in the second year will not be as dramatic.
In this post, allow me to show you some of Theo's photos taken last week. As you can very well see, he has become much bigger and his weight is just perfect for this age -- not thin and definitely not obese. That's the advantage of breastfeeding over formula: the chances of having a breast-fed but overweight baby are very, very slim.
On Saturday, January 14, Mommy D, Theo and I will be embarking on a much-needed two-week vacation in our hometown in the Philippines. And since there's a DSL Internet connection in our home in Bacolod City, I will still be able to upload photos and post in this blog.
Keep this site in your "Favorites" list and do visit again next week. I assure you, there will be some very interesting photos.
