Smiles Galore
Theo was in a particularly good mood last weekend; thus I decided to use my film SLR camera instead of the digital one which has an agonizingly slow response time. Hence, I was able to capture him (and his sharp teeth) many times in full smiling glory.
For this shot, I used a 50mm f/1.8 lens at an aperture of f/2.8 at 1/60 sec. to obtain a shallow depth of field while keeping his eyes in sharp focus. Again, I used a film camera for this. Digital point-and-shoot cameras are surely convenient but they don't provide the creative leeway that only SLRs can give.
This shot was taken this morning while we were playing at a park. His bonnet is from his grandmother, Mommy C.
Recently, Theo has shown preference in using his right hand more than his left. For instance, if you give him a cracker through his left hand, he would first transfer it to his right before putting it into his mouth. He is also now more vocal in expressing his needs for food and water, although his vocabulary is limited to just a few words. Because he is so fond of Mickey Mouse, whom he calls "Mao", most of his sentences lately end in "Mao."
Generally, Theo is meeting his developmental tasks quite well, and his growth and development are in the right track. And as you can see from the photos above, he is certainly one happy and contented toddler. Main reason? He is showered with lots of love.
